Subject: [Alopecia Areata Support Group] Calosol


Hi all
Saw the discussion about this product and as I hadnt heard of it I went hunting on the web. Here's a short article from the British television show 'This Morning' with Dr. Chris Steele...Seems like expensive stuff but then I guess if it works people will pay for it. Would be nice to know exactly what's in it but good to see it's from a natural source (although how natural it will remain remains to be seen).

Calosol (Treatment for alopecia areta)

alopecia areta (AA) accounts for up to 2% of new dermatological outpatients attendance's in the UK and USA. Circumstantial evidence suggests AA is an autoimmune disease where cells of an individual's own immune system prevent hair follicles from producing hair fibre.

Alopecia is thought to affect upto eight million people in Britain of whom many are children. Triggers include local injury, physical trauma, stress, bacterial infection allergies and genetic disposition.

It can start with alopecia areata (AA) in which hair starts to fall out in clumps, but can regrow spontaneously. More serious is alopecia totalis (AT) a completely bald head and in the most severe cases alopecia universalis (AU) in which people lose all their body hair.

Colosol has been developed from a common family plant after twenty years research and the formula has been getting some very positive 'anecdotal' feedback.

So much so that British plant based medicines manufacturers has been lab testing it for the last two years but cannot decide whether to manufacture it as a cream or a special shampoo. However, they claim that there are no side effects associated with its use.

Colosol has had success with both AA and AU which has to date never been treated successfully using conventional medicine.
